IY Kids News Last Wednesday our topic was about trust. We heard situations where people who do not trust each other and discussed how to handle the situations with trust. For example, in a situation our friends do not listen to us, some of say that we should ignore them but we learn that we should keep caring for our friends even though not listening to us. IY Teens News Our Idente Youth teens discussed the culture of death and how to go against it. We spoke about the beauty of human life and how throughout history people have tried to attack it by promoting abortion, euthanasia, bullying, and other forms of violence. Our teens committed themselves to protecting all human life from the moment of conception to natural death.

Last Wednesday our kids played some games about trusting one another which was guided by our friend Eduardo. Also, our Kids were so excited to discuss about the virtue of trusting one another. We also watched a short clip of the Parable Prodigal son from the Bible. We genuinely believe that a small seed of trust is enough to grow great love between two people. "Without Confidence and Love there can be no True Education" - St.Don Bosco Hey Everyone! It has been sometime since we last posted about our meetings. Better late than never J On Jan 21, we had Johnny and Anthony collaborating to present the seminar on “Courage.” Courage was defined as “Putting yourself at risk for some higher purpose.” We were enlightened on the positive results of courage and the ways in which we could cultivate this virtue. At the following two IY meetings (Jan 28 & Feb 4), we watched a 1985 American classic movie, “The Breakfast Club.” The storyline follows five teenagers, each a member of a different high school clique, who spend a Saturday in detention together and come to realize that they are all more than their respective stereotypes, while facing a strict disciplinarian. Our next meeting: 10am Sat, Feb 11 at Our Lady of Loretto Church. Please note that we will have Marianne Sheridan, the director of youth, young adults & campus ministry in the diocese of Rockville center visiting us to present the Midnight Run project. Hence please make a special effort to be present at this Saturdays meeting. See you on Saturday! |
