Our Idente Youth teens discussed the importance of evaluating the purpose of all of our relationships. " God gives us relationships to help us become the-best-version-of-ourselves. He gives us relationships so that we can help each other get to Heaven ... the purpose of every relationship is two people helping each other become the-best-version-of-themselves. It doesn't matter if it is a relationship between husband and wife, boyfriend and girlfriend, brother and sister, parents and children, manager and employee, coach and player, teacher and student. What is good communication? Our teens discussed how the key to many relationships (with parents, teachers, friends, etc.) is great communication. Sometimes we fail to consider the feelings of others when we communicate, or we place ourselves at the center of the conversation. Our teens shared how they plan to improve their communication this week by being better listeners and seeking the best for others, even if it requires sacrificing what they prefer. We also welcome Blangie and Sahory, our newest Idente Youth participants! Hey Everyone! We had a fantastic meeting at the group. The topic of discussion was “Unity in Sports,” and our presenter was Rebeca. We were informed that like our faith, sports brings people – irrespective of religion, gender, nations, language, culture- together. Rebeca shared with us an interesting story about the famous NBA player Stephen Curry. Did you know that he brings the bible to the court? Now, you may ask how come? His under armour shoes carries the quotation from Philippians 4:13: ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.’ For more on the Stephen Curry story – Click here Kudos to Rebeca for an amazing presentation. Our next meeting: 10:00am Sat, Apr 8 at Our Lady of Loretto Church. Challenge yourself in the game of life, like you are in the game of sports -Pope Francis |
