This week, our Idente Youth teens focused on improving their relationships with family and friends. In groups, the teens reflected on their own relationships using quotes from Gandhi, Einstein, Newton and Confucius. The teens concluded that spending time with the other person (bonding), being generous, and frequent communication are great ways of strengthening their relationships. Our next meeting will focus on overcoming feelings of depression, isolation, and loneliness in order to strengthen our relationships with others. We hope to see you next Thursday, Oct. 15 at St. Dominic's!

Idente Youth teens in the Bronx discussed the topic of relationships based on the New Testament. During the meeting, the teens were asked to make mind maps using four words: relationship, dating, friendship and marriage. The teens then arranged these words according to what they thought should come first. All agreed that friendships should be prior to romantic relationships, dating and marriage. After the mind maps, they discussed as a group some quotes and advice about romantic relationship from the New Testament. The teens concluded the meeting by committing themselves to seek truthful relationships with other people. Special thanks to Leon and Jean, the friends of Edward, who joined us for their first IY meeting! Welcome!
Next week Idente Youth is planning to have a seminar on relationships with family and friends. We look forward to seeing you there! |
