Hey Friends, Last Wednesday our Idente Youth teens in the Bronx discussed the benefits of studying. While sometimes we feel that studying in school is difficult and tiring, we later tend to see how important it was to study. We begin to see that studying improves our knowledge, our personality and even our faith. The teens learned that we have to give our best when we study and this means that we avoid wasting our time. Many things can distract us, so we have to ask God to help us stay focused. Hope you can join us for our next teens' meeting this Wednesday at 6:00pm at St. Dominic's Church. For more information, please call us at (347) 948-3122 or check out our website:www.identeyouth.us. Thanks!

Phones are an amazing tool for us to use, but they can sometimes be a big distraction. Our Idente Youth teens had an amazing discussion on the importance of limiting the time we spend on our phones. The teens discussed how easy it is to become addicted to our phones, especially when we're bored. Instead of spending hours on Facebook, Kik, Instagram, and games, our teens concluded that we need to spend more face-to-face time with the people around us, especially our family and friends. God is always inspiring us to help and encourage others, so we have to be ready to give up the things we love, to bring joy to others. Join us next Wednesday at 6:00pm for our next teens' meeting at St. Dominic's! (5/4/2016)
Last Wednesday, our Idente Youth teens tried to find out what is a real purpose of our life.. We started talking about what kind of jobs we want to have in the future. Then, we realized a purpose of life is more than to find our jobs but is to serving God and His people in need everyday. We sincerely shared what to better our lives to fulfill this purpose. We hope you can join us for our next teens' meeting this Wednesday at 6:00pm at St. Dominic's Church. Hey Amigos!
Thank you for making it to today’s IY meeting. The seminar was presented by Anthony, the topic of discussion was an allegory based on the journey of the three kings following the star to baby Jesus. The three kings represented humanity, the star was the GPS, and baby Jesus was our destiny. The journey for all of us is not a straight path but involves a number of bumps, curves, twists, and turns. These manifest is numerous falls we have. Some of the falls we discussed involved: steeling, murder, lust, cheating, pornography, and more. At the end the important message is that there is hope, we can get up from our fall and move forward. We have to make an effort to understand the causes of our fall, and rectify them. Our falls don’t define us, we are each a unique masterpiece of our heavenly father. Let us allow God to chisel out our imperfections. Kudos to Anthony for doing a brilliant job with the presentation. Please note that next Saturday we do not have our IY meeting at 10am but instead we go ice-skating at the twin rinks ice center in Eisenhower Park. Details of Ice skating trip:

Ph: (516) 489- 3675 Our Idente Youth Teens had a great turnout in our first Wednesday, 1/6/2016, meeting with a good number of participants and richness of our topic. We discussed healthy communication. We learned about paying attention to people who are speaking to us. Sometimes, phones or selfishness do not nurture in-person communication. We realized that it is important to make our best efforts to make our conversation more creative, active and flowing. Thanks! Hey Amigos! Thank you to all that made it to today’s meeting. The topic of discussion in continuation to last week’s meeting was “Music.” We specifically discussed the benefits of playing a musical instrument on the brain, one could call the activity a brain workout. As the video we watched said, there are fireworks in the brain when one listens to music and more so when one plays an instrument. To put what we learned into practice, we worked in small groups to create an IY jingle, here are the lyrics of one of them. Hey Andre! Yeah ? Come join Idente Youth today. Make sure you never leave but stay. We got many things to discuss today. Come join me on next Saturday….. Yes, we have many things to discuss next Saturday. Our next IY meeting will be at 10am Sat, 16 Jan. Please remember as Victor Wooten, the famous American bass player says, “Music is a language.” Let us be willing to make and embrace our mistakes. Have a wonderful weekend. Hey Friends! Thank you to everyone that made it to last Saturday’s meeting. The topic of discussion was “Music: The effects of music lyrics and video’s on teens.” We learnt that the music we listen to is correlated with our behaviours and attitudes. Today’s music lyrics, especially genres like rap, heavy metal, rock, and regaeton, have become more explicit in their reference to drugs, sex, and violence. Let us as young people be more cautious and aware of the music we listen to. Our next IY meeting will be at 10am Sat, 9 Jan. Have a wonderful week. This week, our Idente youth teens watched the Documentary called “Poet of God,” a documentary on the life of Dr. Fernando Rielo, founder of Idente youth, to remember him on the 11th memorial anniversary of his passing into eternal life. It was an amazing experience for the teens as they understood the founder’s sacrificial life, love and desire to transmit the Heavenly Father's love to young people. The documentary also showed the teens the founder’s perseverance to build a better society. He persevered from his young age till his death amidst many pains and persecutions. our Idente youth Kids had a wonderful time watching puppet shows, through which they were learning to love and to respect one another. After watching it they all had prepared themselves to make their own puppets with a story. The stories to which they gave life were so inspiring and was filled with the desire of living values by sharing and loving with one another. Thanks to all the kids who came forward to share their wish.
Last Sunday, our Idente Youth Teens in Hempstead, Long Island hosted their very first Athenaeum (a cultural and artistic gathering) in Our Lady of Loretto Church. Our teens from Hempstead enthusiastically welcomed our Idente Youth members who traveled from the Bronx and from Brentwood, Long Island. The teens shared their talents with family and friends through music, dance, and skits. Special thanks to everyone who joined us last Sunday and for making it special! |
