Hey Friends, Thank you to all of you that made it to today’s IY meeting. The topic of discussion was “Atheism and Truth.” We briefly looked at the different world religions, are all religions the same, what truth is, and does truth really matter. As discussed, there is a truth. Truth is absolute, narrow, and exclusive. Let us discover it together. “Wanderer, your footsteps are the road, and nothing more; wanderer, there is no road, the road is made by walking. By walking one makes the road, and upon glancing behind one sees the path that never will be trod again. Wanderer, there is no road-- Only wakes upon the sea. - Antonio Machado (Spanish Poet) Attached is the slidedeck that was shared during the meeting. The next IY meeting will be 10am Sat, June 4 at the Church Basement (not Lower Rectory). Please note this will be a welcome meeting for the newly confirmed students.

Hey Friends, Thank you to all that made it to today’s IY meeting. The topic of discussion was “Dreams.” I hope we all understood through the presentation the importance of dreams and dreaming. Below is the message from Pope Francis’s address to the Cuban students on “dreaming,” which we read at the meeting. You are standing up and I am sitting. How rude! But you know why I am sitting; it is because I was taking notes on some of the things which our companion here was saying. Those are the things I want to talk about. One really striking word he used was “dream”. A Latin American writer once said that we all have two eyes: one of flesh and another of glass. With the eye of flesh, we see what is in front of us. With the eye of glass, we see what we dream of. Beautiful, isn’t it? In the daily reality of life, there has to be room for dreaming. A young person incapable of dreaming is cut off, self-enclosed. Everyone sometimes dreams of things which are never going to happen. But dream them anyway, desire them, seek new horizons, be open to great things. I’m not sure if you use this word in Cuba, but in Argentina we say: “Don’t be a pushover!” Don’t bend or yield; open up. Open up and dream! Dream that with you the world can be different. Dream that if you give your best, you are going to help make this world a different place. Don’t forget to dream! If you get carried away and dream too much, life will cut you short. It makes no difference; dream anyway, and share your dreams. Talk about the great things you wish for, because the greater your ability to dream, the farther you will have gone; even if life cuts you short half way, you will still have gone a great distance. So, first of all, dream! - Pope Francis (Address Of His Holiness Pope Francis To Students) Sunday, 20 September 2015 We take this opportunity to welcome our newcomers Fernando & Griselda to IY Our next weekly meeting is at 10am Sat, 28-May at Our Lady of Loretto Church. Our Idente Youth, in the Bronx, had an interesting discussion about relationship with others. We realize that, many times, we have narrow standards on who should be our friends. Our treatment with others should not depend on their physical beauty, skills, reaction and attitudes, etc., but depend on their human dignity as we would be happy to be loved as we are as children of God. While being open-hearted and merciful to everyone, however, we also learnt that we have to avoid friendship that is harmful to our relationship with God. (5/11/2016) Hope you can join us for our next teens' meeting this Wednesday at 6:00pm at St. Dominic's Church! For more information, please call us at (347) 948-3122 or check out our website:www.identeyouth.us. Phones are an amazing tool for us to use, but they can sometimes be a big distraction. Our Idente Youth teens had an amazing discussion on the importance of limiting the time we spend on our phones. The teens discussed how easy it is to become addicted to our phones, especially when we're bored. Instead of spending hours on Facebook, Kik, Instagram, and games, our teens concluded that we need to spend more face-to-face time with the people around us, especially our family and friends. God is always inspiring us to help and encourage others, so we have to be ready to give up the things we love, to bring joy to others. Join us next Wednesday at 6:00pm for our next teens' meeting at St. Dominic's! (5/4/2016)
Last Wednesday our Idente Youth, in the Bronx, prepared for 2016 Family Confirmation Celebration. Our Idente Youth organized this event to welcome and congratulate those who received the Sacrament of Confirmation last Saturday. We divided ourselves into three groups. One group took charge of promotion of Idente Youth, another group decoration and the other group games and dynamics during the celebration. We were happy to celebrate the blessings of our friends. Hope you can join us for our next teens' meeting this Wednesday at 6:00pm at St. Dominic's Church!

(4/27/2016) Last Wednesday, our Idente Youth teens tried to find out what is a real purpose of our life.. We started talking about what kind of jobs we want to have in the future. Then, we realized a purpose of life is more than to find our jobs but is to serving God and His people in need everyday. We sincerely shared what to better our lives to fulfill this purpose. We hope you can join us for our next teens' meeting this Wednesday at 6:00pm at St. Dominic's Church. For more information, please call us at (347) 948-3122 or check out our website: www.identeyouth.us. Thanks! (4/20/2016)
Last Wednesday, our Idente Youth teens were reminded that God, our Father, created each of us with a purpose in life, just as a worker or an artist creates with a purpose. We realized that our purpose in life is to first love God and the people around us. In small groups, we shared examples of how we're living according to our purpose as well as the times that we have fallen short of living our purpose. Our sharing was filled with joy as we encouraged one another to live for our Heavenly Father. We hope you can join us for our next teens' meeting this Wednesday at 6:00pm at St. Dominic's Church. Last Wednesday our Idente Youth talked about some of the main concerns of people in our society. We wrote letters to help people with challenges such as loneliness, depression, family problems and bullying. The teens then exchanged letters and found out possible solutions for some of these problems. Hope you can join us for our next teens' meeting this Wednesday at 6:00pm at St. Dominic's Church. On January 18, our Idente Youth had an ice-skating trip to Lasker Rink in Central Park. Together with Idente Youth in Santa Maria, we had more than 30 teens and kids. We enjoyed not only skating in the Rink but also building our friendships. We would like to welcome more teens and kids in our next trips. Also, last Wednesday we had an amazing discussion about love, based on 1st Corinthians 13. We talked about our weaknesses in loving others, and made up our mind to transform our selfishness into love. If you are interested in our Idente Youth activities, join us this Wednesday at 6:00pm at St. Dominic's church. For more info, please visit our website: www.identeyouth.us. - Bro. Hey Amigos!
Thank you for making it to today’s IY meeting. The seminar was presented by Anthony, the topic of discussion was an allegory based on the journey of the three kings following the star to baby Jesus. The three kings represented humanity, the star was the GPS, and baby Jesus was our destiny. The journey for all of us is not a straight path but involves a number of bumps, curves, twists, and turns. These manifest is numerous falls we have. Some of the falls we discussed involved: steeling, murder, lust, cheating, pornography, and more. At the end the important message is that there is hope, we can get up from our fall and move forward. We have to make an effort to understand the causes of our fall, and rectify them. Our falls don’t define us, we are each a unique masterpiece of our heavenly father. Let us allow God to chisel out our imperfections. Kudos to Anthony for doing a brilliant job with the presentation. Please note that next Saturday we do not have our IY meeting at 10am but instead we go ice-skating at the twin rinks ice center in Eisenhower Park. Details of Ice skating trip:
